UIL Golf State Championship
Plano West finished in second place behind AUstin's Westlake at the UIL State Championship golf tournament held at the Legacy hills golf club in georgetown Tx. the tournament was held on may 22-23. plano west was represented by seniors Andy lopez and bryce pidgeon, juniors Parker and pierceson coody, and freshman Davis fritz. freshman Jun song attended as an alternate. The two day tournament featured some of the most talented golfers from the state. although west was not able to claim the championship in the team category, parker coody took first place in the individual category with rounds of 71-68. teammates andy lopez (71-71) and pierceson coody (68-73) tied for sixth place.
The talented golfers from plano west high school have raised the bar in our region and have become strong competitors to westlake high school, a school well known for its golf excellence. congratulations to westlake high school on winning the championship.

on its fifth consecutive trip to state, plano west will be represented by the boys team consisting of pierceson coody, parker coody, andy lopez, bryce pidgeon, and davis fritz. The uil texas state 6-6a golf tournament will take the wolves to legacy hills golf course in georgetown, tx on may 22-23.
uil region 6a boys tournament texas star golf course, euless, tx April 26-27
the boys team spent wednesday and thursday competing at the region 6 boys tournament in euless. on the first day, the golfers faced strong winds and cloudy skies yet managed to position themselves in first place. on the second day, with sunny skies and warmer temperatures, the wolves faced strong competition from Marcus High school. By the end of the two rounds Plano west and marcus tied for first place so the members of both teams were sent to hole #18 to a PLayoff. Marcus came on top and west settled for second. The third place finisher was southlake, and all three teams advance to state. On the individual category, Pierceson coody took gold with commanding rounds of 70 and 71. Congratulations to pierceson on two wonderful rounds and to the coaches and team for making it to state. the wolves rock!
All boys and girls entering grades 9-12 for the 2017-2018 school year who are interested in trying out for the Plano West Golf Team need to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Plano West Library. DISTRICT 6-6A TOURNAMENT GENTLE CREEK GOLF COURSE, PROSPER TX
aDVANCING TO REGIONALS, Plano west's 'team a' took second place at the district tournament. The tournament was held on April 3 and 4. despite a rough start on the first day, and having some strokes to make up on the second day, The wolves managed to get the job done in a nail biting finish and secure a second place. Two teams advance to regionals and the wolves get to play some more golf on April 26 and 27. junior Parker coody had a great showing at the tournament and finished in second place in the individual category with rounds of 69 and 70. pierceson coody medaled and came in 9th place.
The wolves were also represented by 'team b' who placed fifth, ahead of many schools' first teams.

first day of spring and the wolves were enjoying their day competing at the preview to district tournament. with sunny skies, windy conditions, and temPERatures that reACHED THE 90S, PLANO WEST WAs represented by two teams. team a - pierceson coody, parker coody, andy lopez, bryce pidgeon, and davis fritz placed first with a combined score of 292. team b - jun song, daniel o, ethan shaff, drew burleson, and reid robertson went on to tie plano sr. for third place. medals were given to the top 5 players and west took the top three. parker (the only player to shoot under par) had a score of 69 to take first place. he was followed by teammate Andy with a score of 72 (par) who took second place and bryce (also a teammate) took third place with a score of 75.
The district tournament will take place in two weeks - a two day tournament on april 3 and 4.

congratulations to this wolfpack on their tournament victory. This two day tournament had plano west tied for third after the first round, six strokes behind the leading team, mansfield. On the second day, the wolves stepped up their game with strong rounds by Andy and parker who led the way shooting 69 (each). with a total score of 288, on the second day, plano west finished the tournament one stroke ahead of mansfield, thus taking the win.

plano west was represented by two boys teams and a girls team at this jv tournament. On the boys side, the team of Davis Fritz, ethan shaff, jun song, ethan lee and daniel o finished in first place and the team of ishan brar, lohith satish, walker wortham, and shomik goshal finished in third place. Davis fritz took second place in the overall individual category. the girls were represented by gigi, taylor, christy, ashleigh, haley, and lauren and had a strong round to finish in first place. gigi pro and hayley um medaled in the individual category.

State preview february 24-25
Legacy Hills golf club was host to the preview to state tournament held on Friday and saturday february 24 and 25. The wolves were tied for second place after the first day's round but the second day proved to be more challenging and west fell behind vandergriff and westlake.

January 16-17
The first tournament of 2017 took the Wolves to Las Colinas to participate in the Flower Mound Invitational - a two day tournament played at the Four Seasons TPC golf course. Despite the wet and muddy conditions (following severe weather on the night before the tournament), the team consisting of Parker, Pierceson, Andy, Bryce, and Jun managed to win the tournament. The second place team was a distant 19 strokes. On the individual results, Pierceson and Parker shot the lowest two day score of 148. Congratulations West!!!
LEGENDS JR TOUR - JACKIE BURKE CUP AT ESCONDIDO GOLF AND LAKE CLUB, HORSESHOE BAY
three members of the plano west golf team participated in this prestigious event. Parker coody, pierceson coody, and andy lopez represented the north team in this tournament held on November 12-13. Parker wAS NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR AT A DINNER EVENT FRIDAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT (PIERCESON WAS PLAYER OF THE YEAR THE PREVIOUS YEAR). aNDY MADE THE FIRST HOLE IN ONE OF HIS CAREER, AND THE NORTH TEAM GOT TO RETAIN THE TITLE. CONGRATULAtions wolves!
the Plano west girls took one team and two medalists to participate in the ranchview invitational. on a warm and sunny day our team, lead by freshman ellie roth, took care of the competition and won the tournament. Ellie placed first overall in the individual category and teammate jaxie pidgeon placed 4th overall. congratulations to all.

STONEBRIDGE RANCH (MCKINNEY) OCTOBER 31
Mckinney boyd hosted the tournament at the dye course in stonebridge ranch. players played 36 holes on a warm, sunny day (82 degrees fahrenheit). At the end of the day, the wolves came through with a first place finish in the team and individual categories. Junior Pierceson coody had a spectacular second round of 67 to take first place, one shot ahead of his brother Parker who finished in second place overall. Freshman Davis demonstrated that he is ready to compete!

The lady wolves traveled to corinth tx to play in their first tournament of the year. Representing the wolf pack were Courtney Battieste, Jaxie pidgeon, claire phonepresart, gigi pro, and ellie roth. due to inclement weather the tournament was called off after 9 holes. Sophomore Courtney placed second in the overall.

The Bart Granger Memorial Tournament
september 23-24
The first tournament of the year took the boys team to fort worth. A two day (three rounds) tournament played on 90 degree weather, under very humid conditions, led our wolf pack to a 4th place finish behind Mansfield, Plano, and coppell.
Senior Andy LOPez led the team with a three day finish of 211 (one under par) - Andy fired up a second round of 65 on the River course, and Junior Parker coody's third round of 67 contributed to the team's top five finish. there were 52 teams in attendance - 260 golfers from around Texas.
